Salt-crusted games, told from the shack.

Honest RPG reviews, indie deep-dives and cozy gaming guides — written between morning swims at Bronte and long twilight sessions on the couch.

Our mission

Games deserve slow, sun-warmed criticism.

We started Ember Mystic Kingdom in a leaky Surry Hills terrace with two second-hand consoles and a shared belief: the best writing about games is patient, personal and a little bit sandy. No score inflation, no hype cycles — just players talking honestly about the worlds they love.
